About the Onda EV

Is the Onda EV a golf cart?

Not exactly -- and that's the point. Golf carts were designed for golf courses. Onda was designed for the life you actually live: coastal roads, neighborhood runs, school drop-offs with the windows down. It has real seatbelts, a backup camera, and 80km of range on a single charge. It just happens to look better than anything on a fairway.

How far does it go on a single charge?

80km on a flat road -- enough for a full week of neighborhood driving before you need to plug in. Charging takes under 8 hours from a standard 220V outlet, about the same as charging overnight.

What tech does it come with?

More than you'd expect. Every Onda comes with Bluetooth connectivity, a built-in GPS and map display, and a quality stereo system. The backup camera feeds directly to the dashboard screen so you always know what's behind you.

The battery also has a QR code that gives you instant access to real-time location tracking, charge level, and battery specs from your phone. That same GPS pinpoints your vehicle on a map at all times -- so if anyone tries to take it, you'll know exactly where it is.

What colors are available?

Onda comes in five signature colors: Onda Red, Matte Black, White, Seafoam, and Electric Blue. You can also go fully custom -- choose any Pantone color for the exterior paint. Seats and bimini cover come in black or beige. Custom orders are an additional $1,000 and we'll contact you to finalize every detail.

Is it street legal in Costa Rica and Panama?

Onda is classified as a Low Speed Vehicle (LSV) and is designed for neighborhood and coastal road use. For specific registration and road use requirements in your area, we recommend confirming with local authorities. We can help point you in the right direction -- just ask when you book your test drive.

Where can I test drive one?

Test drives are currently available in Jaco, Costa Rica. Fill out the form on our Book a Test Drive page and we'll be in touch within 24 hours to set it up.

Where is Onda currently available?

Onda is currently available in Costa Rica and Panama. We are actively expanding and have plans to launch in Mexico and the United States.

Ordering and Payment

How do I buy one?

Start with a test drive. Onda is a considered purchase and we want you to feel it before you commit. Book a test drive in Jaco, come feel it for yourself, and we'll walk you through the process from there.

How does payment work?

All Ondas are custom ordered. Payment is split into two installments:

  • 50% deposit due at the time of ordering to begin production
  • 50% balance due 45 days later, halfway through the production and delivery cycle

We accept payment via PayPal or Wise (international bank transfer). Wise offers transparent exchange rates and low fees -- ideal for international buyers. If you'd like to pay by Wise transfer, email us at chris@ondaev.com and we'll send you the details.

Can I pay in full upfront?

Yes. If you'd prefer to pay in full at the time of ordering, just let us know and we'll arrange it.

What is your refund policy?

Because all Ondas are custom ordered, we cannot offer refunds after an order has been placed. We encourage you to book a test drive first, review all details carefully, and make sure you feel completely confident before you commit. We're happy to answer any questions before you order -- reach out at chris@ondaev.com.

Delivery

How does delivery work?

Once your deposit is confirmed we begin production immediately. We'll keep you updated throughout the entire process -- production milestones, shipping updates, and customs clearance -- so you always know where your Onda is.

We cover all customs fees on entry into the country. You can pick up your vehicle at the port of entry, or have it delivered directly to your location for a small delivery fee. When we hand you the keys we'll walk you through all the features so you're ready to go from day one.

How long does delivery take?

Timelines vary depending on production schedules, shipping, and customs processing. Get in touch and we'll give you the most accurate estimate for your specific order and location.

Warranty and Support

What does the warranty cover?

Every Onda comes with:

  • 1-year warranty on the engine and vehicle
  • 5-year warranty on the battery

If something goes wrong within the warranty period, we'll make it right.

Are parts and maintenance support available?

Yes. Parts are available and maintenance support is on hand. You won't be chasing down parts from overseas or figuring it out on your own. Reach out at chris@ondaev.com and we'll sort it out.

Fleet and Bulk Orders

Do you work with businesses?

Yes. We work with rental companies, resorts, beach clubs, hotels, gated communities, and tour operators across Costa Rica and Panama. Bulk pricing is available for fleet orders. Visit our Fleet Inquiries page or email chris@ondaev.com to discuss what works for your operation.
